Puketāpapa Local Board has developed a draft master plan for Mount Roskill War Memorial Park, and this is now open for feedback.
Owairaka Athletics and the Lovelock Track is located within the park, and we regularly use the wider park for 5K in the Park, the Owai 5 and other training and events year-round. We encourage you all as all members and users of the park and Lovelock Track to have your say on proposed improvements.

In particular, we think the following improvements are needed:
Lighting is needed on the southern side of the park to allow for the current evening summer use to continue in winter through to 9pm - particularly important as demand for park use increases.
Shade and shelter is needed - for schools and groups holding athletics and other events on the track and infield.
The track is also at capacity at times and it can be difficult to get bookings, resulting in lots of users sharing the space. This creates hazards for anyone on the track, and is becoming more of a problem for Owairaka Athletics and other users.
