Te Hāora 2026 Wrap
Results, pictures and a big thank you to everyone who came along as an athlete, an official or as helper - you all helped to make the event a huge success.
Thanks to our sponsors - Brunton NZ, Barfoot & Thompson and Davis Food Ingredients and our partners Wesley Community Centre and the team from Athletics Auckland.
The weather was good and we had more teams than ever before out on the course. Great to see so many clubs represented - ACA, Oratia, The Y, Lynndale, Glen Eden, Night Ninjas, TTT, GNR Run club, Riverhead. Once again, the pace was fast and the unique format of the event resulted in some really close racing with ACA taking out the race by just 10 seconds from Oratia. As Jono Jackson said "It's a very hard way to run 8km!"

A DIGITAL VISUALISATION OF THE RACE
Ian Bishop from the Riverhead team made this cool visualisation of the race and how the placings changed. You can look at the positions, the position changes or the timing gaps...and focus in on any team.
FASTEST STRAVA LAP ... and winners of Auckland Marathon entries

There are lots more of Terence's superb photos here.
It takes a big team to make all this happen.
Thanks to the Race committee - Kate, Dion, Jerym, Nick and Jan. And thanks to everyone involved on the day for set up, the event itself and packing up - Pete, Ollie, Andrew, Sarah, Jo, Terence, Grace V and her friend on the BBQ, Gayleen, Rebecca, Julie, Terrie, Annika, Grace P and all the Lightning Bolts in fluoro who turned out to marshal, Tim Mitchell on the mic, Tim the President, Blair the DJ, Jon Turner from the Puketāpapa Local Board doing a karakia.
As a club, we're really focused on getting more people involved in events like this, so you are all appreciated - it shows what can be achieved when the community comes together.
Hope you all enjoyed it. See you next year.
