About the Event
The McKinnon Shield Series is Athletics Auckland's inter-club athletics competition. The alternating event grid means not all events are held at each McKinnon Shield meet. Over the course of the summer season, most events are held 4 to 5 times with some held more often.
It is open to athletes 12 years and older on the year of competition with up to 10 events throughout the course of the summer season from October to March.
Athletes earn points for their club team based on the events they do, with the aim of helping their club be crowned McKinnon Shield champions.
