About the Event

Let's come together on Matariki to remember our history, celebrate our present and look to the future for the new year to come. 

This year, we're aligning our historic King and Queen of the Maunga race with the Matariki celebrations. Gather together, run our mountain Puketapapa and share soup and yummy baked kai together in the club house afterwards. There is a 5k walk option, a 5k run option and for the first time, a 2.5k run option for tamariki (Under 16s).

Details:

$5 entry for the event - please register in advance.  There will be an opportunity to offer a koha on the day so bring cash with you.

Walkers, arrive at the club house at 1. Walk up and down Puketapapa Mt Roskill the shortest route you can find.

Runners, arrive at 1.30. Briefing at 2. Set off to the run start (Corner of Maioro and Richardson) for a start at 2:30. Your course goes down Maioro, along the SWestern Bike Way, up to the top of Puketapapa and back to the start.

Tamariki, arrive at the top of Puketapapa Mt Roskill at 2.00 for a warm up, briefing with Nick and a start at 2.30. Run down the maunga and along to South Western Bike Way to the finish at the corner of Maioro and Richardson. 

Prizegiving, soup and kai at the clubhouse at 3.30.
