King and Queen of the Mountain 2021

Our traditional King and Queen of the Mountain race.  It's 5 km up and down Puketāpapa, Mt Roskill and every year we use it as a charity fundraiser to help local athletes follow their dreams. This year, we are fundraising to help our relay teams compete in the NZRRs on October 2nd. It's back at Takahe Akaroa and Owai's gunning for gold - aiming to send down Senior and Vets mens teams and a mighty #owaiwomen 's team too.

Please register online. Bring cash on the day - $10 for adults and $5 for U18s.

TIMING:

Walkers and Jog / walkers register at 1pm and set off up the mountain as soon as you are registered.

Runners register from 1.30. Briefing at 2. Prizegiving and a cup of tea back at the club house at 3.15.

ROUTE:

From the corner of Richardson and Maioro, head down the South Western Cycleway until you get to car-free Puketāpapa Mt Roskill. Run up the mountain on the road, take in the views from the top by doing a loop around on the grass and then make your way back to the start / finish the same way back at the corner of Richardson and Maioro. It's 5km.

Historic trophies for the first male and female club members home and tasty treats for other achievers. There will be a yummy bake sale so bring change. All runners / walkers very welcome and we'd love to see people from other clubs there too.
