ITAAF ((International Truly Amateur Athletic Federation) World Track Champs.
For those who just missed out on an Olympic spot in Tokyo, we are organising another ITAAF (International Truly Amateur Athletic Federation) World Track Championship 5,000m at Lovelock Track on Saturday 31st July from 6:00pm. This event attracts some of the best truly amateur athletes (real people, who don’t make a living from running, with real jobs and real families) from around the globe (NED, ETH, IND, AUS, NZ, UK, ONE(HUNGA), IRL,) and is a great opportunity to run with athletes of this calibre bringing out the best times in you.
This is a low key (free to enter, fast, flat, accurate, awesome buzz, traffic free, toilets every 400m, no cost, no numbers/timing tags, time yourself, no bands/music, no silly rules, no drug testing, boing-boing shoes allowed, you can have your foot ON the line, no corporate sponsorship/advertising, make (and learn from) your mistakes,) 5000m around the track (12.5 laps).
When - Saturday 31st July. Meet 6pm for warm up and wind sprints/strides. 5000M starts at 6:30pm.
Where - Lovelock Track, Sandringham Road Extension.
Who - Open to anyone. Bring a friend.
How much – Free/nada/nilch/zero/gratis
Drinks and nibbles afterwards at The Albert Cafe and Bar, 245 Mt Albert Rd (just up the road and round the corner from the track).
