Dion O'Neale
Ko Maungahuka te Māunga. Ko Ruamahanga te awa. Ko ngati pakeha tōku iwi. Nō Wairarapa ahau. Ko Dion tōku ingoa.
Originally from Wellington, I started out running trails in the hills. Since moving to Auckland I run much more tar-seal than single track but being part of Owairaka gives me the chance to still get a bit of mud at events like club cross-country. I've really appreciated the fun and support that comes from training and competing at club events and I'm keen to help Owairaka grow its presence at the Senior and Masters level.
To balance my running against less healthy pursuits, I'm also an avid home brewer and craft beer enthusiast. When my hobbies allow time, I work at Auckland University, where I am a lecturer in the physics department.
